Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J. Maas

*Drum roll* Alright guys! I’ve been gone for too long, but sadly, this is not my full return. I graduated training from my new job, and it’s been super fun! The school year is almost over, and then I will be absent again because I’ll be in Florida, hanging out with everyone’s favorite mouse. (I’m coming for you, Mickey.) But, back to the point of this post, A Court of Wings and Ruin was released and I demolished it in 2 days. Let’s see what I thought, shall we?

Okay, so I was very excited for this book. I actually had a 2 year-old with me when it was delivered to my house, and even she was excited about it. So a lot of people felt that the beginning of this book was slow because Feyre was with Tamlin, but I loved that? I mean Feyre was a total badass in the Spring Court, and I loved reading about her getting her well deserved revenge. Feyre: 1 Tamlin: 0
Lets also talk about Ianthe for a second, should we? THIS GIRL MAKES ME WANT TO SPIT. Like seriously, Ianthe makes me so angry.  Ianthe basically thought she was hot stuff, and that made me want to feed her to a Naga.  I really wanted to she a cat fight between her and Mor, but to my despair, that didn’t happen.
Along with other characters, Nesta grew on me a lot during this book. I had a strong disliking for her during the first book because she treated Feyre horribly, and only cared about herself and Elain. In this book though, I felt she matured and opened herself up a lot in this book, and I learned to like her a lot.
As for everyone else, I still loved them a lot. I felt that this book was really good for character development, and you saw a lot of characters from other courts, which I found very intriguing. I also loved that Rhysand made Feyre live up to her High Lady title. He showed her what it takes to be a High Lord, and he showed everyone else that a High Lady demands respect.
The plot was also artistically done, and there was so much that happened! There was never a dull moment and I found that quite enjoyable. There were so many key factors, and Feyre went through so many trials, I loved it.
However, I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. What happened to Lucien when he went to find the queen? Does the mating bond with him and Elain finally come together? Does Mor find her happiness with someone? Does Feyre find Bryaxis, and if she does, does he return willingly? I need answers!
In the end though, Maas has once again fascinated me with her story of Prythian, and I was satisfied with Feyre and Rhysand’s conclusion. I’m already looking forward to her next book, and I’m deeply curious who the next story will be about.
